COUNTRY STARS SET TO SING AT WELLCAMPAIRPORT OPEN DAY
20 November 2013
Country music sensations Tania Kernaghan and Amber Lawrence will make special guest appearances in Toowoomba this weekend for the Wellcamp Airport Open Day on Sunday November 24.
For Tania Kernaghan, it will be a particularly special occasion as the patron of Angel Flight Outback Trailblazer Event – Angel Flight is the chosen charity for Sunday’s event.
“I am thrilled to be involved with Wellcamp Airport and delighted the community has been encouraged to support angel flight through a gold coin donation on the day,” says Ms Kernaghan.
She says Angel Flight is an extremely important charity that co-ordinates non-emergency flights for financially and medically needy people.
“All flights are free and assist patients or compassionate carers travelling to or from medical facilities anywhere in Australia.”
Tania Kernaghan is one of this country’s most loved and respected performers.
Whether it’s singing up a storm on stage, emceeing a black tie event, sharing her life's journey through public speaking events or rolling up her sleeves to help out with one of her much-loved charities, Tania is a passionate Australian, sharing her love of the country and its characters through her stories and song writing.
Next year, Tania will kick off her national tour with her dad Ray at the Kernaghan Country Super Show at the Tamworth Town Hall on January 20.
Other attractions at the Wellcamp Airport Open Day will include aerial displays, bus tours, jumping castles and face painting, machinery displays, food and drink stalls, joy flights and airport bus tours.
It will also be a chance for the community to meet the airport’s new ambassador Queensland sporting sensation, netballer Laura Geitz.
Admission is free although visitors will be encouraged to make a donation to Angel Flight.
*Amber Lawrence will perform between 11am and 12.30pm followed by Tania Kernaghan, who will sing from 1.30pm until 2.30pm.
