23 May 2017
In 2016 Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE), along-side Food Leaders Australia (FLA) arranged the first international passenger flight from Wellcamp Airport. Access China’16 saw over 200 delegates jet to Shanghai, opening up thousands of potential opportunities for local businesses!
Now we’re at it again! TSBE and FLA will mark another local airport milestone, with the largest passenger flight ever to take off from Toowoomba, which is set to depart later this year.
The flight will again assist businesses to unlock their global opportunity, this time through Hong Kong. Access Hong Kong will see a Qantas B747-400 – the “Queen of the skies”, take off from Wellcamp Airport with well over 200 delegates from our region and beyond onboard (subject to government and regulatory approvals).
Why Hong Kong you might ask?
Well, Hong Kong is known as Asia’s World City. It is a hub for international business, trade, services and investment. The city has positioned itself as the gateway to China and Asia and will allow delegates on board Access Hong Kong connect with potential and future markets across a range of industries including agriculture & food, energy & resources, logistics and education.
But the question on everyone’s lips is… who’s aboard?
We recently revealed airport developer John Wagner and wife Liz Wagner were the first to book for the September trip. They’ll be sharing the cabin with a range of businesses, including 2016 alumni Bassett Barks, Brookstead Farming Company and Kialla Pure Foods.
Two councils keen to make the most of new global business opportunities recently snapped up a couple of tickets. Goondiwindi Regional Council and Western Downs Regional Council, will join the likes of Accession3 Business Advisors, NAB Agribusiness and Suncorp Bank, all keen to explore new business horizons.
Other businesses set to take-off with this delegation include Stonestreets Coaches, Hutchinson Builders, Creevey Russell Lawyers and NBRefrigeration.
Aside from the obvious business benefits, the networks and relationships built while exploring this foreign shore with a couple hundred like-minded professionals will ensure you secure local business deals well into the future.
Last year we unlocked $350million in business opportunities, who knows what potential we’ll unlock in 2017, so make sure your on board!
